As I look back on the journey we undertook to bring the Get Grounded Teen Studio from a vision to a reality I am overwhelmed with immense gratitude. The commuity did not waiver when asked for support. From residents and parents to Commissioner Rader and Emory University, there are so many to thank. While we took the steps to secure the necessary permit and variance for our space, the founding teen advisory board was formed and began to meet and make plans. Though we didn’t anticipate seeing five of our teen board members graduate high school before celebrating our Grand Opening, they are credited for their leadership and willingness to give their time and voice. THANK YOU Katherine, Jacob, Jake, Christian, and Jackson!
Sadly, we will also miss Emily and Catherine who will celebrate their graduation in a matter of weeks. Congratulations on your hard work! They spent their senior year planning, despite not knowing when the Teen Studio would open. Plans were made and had to be delayed but, they took it in stride and continued moving forward. Thank you for your perseverance. It will serve you well in you life.
I hope all of you will take the time to come by and see what your voice made possible. Know we have a special place for you.
